Air freight spare parts for a halted production line
A manufacturer in the interior of São Paulo had a line down waiting for components from Germany. Pickup at the supplier, priority air freight, customs clearance prepared in advance and delivery straight to the plant.
The context
A consumer goods manufacturer had a production line down after a mechanical assembly failed, and the maker of that assembly is in Germany. The supplier had the parts in stock, but a regular import would have taken weeks between pickup, consolidation and release.
What we did
- Pickup at the supplier on the same day the order was confirmed, through our agent in the Stuttgart region.
- Air freight on a direct flight to Guarulhos, with space prioritised with the airline.
- Documents checked before arrival (invoice, packing list, tariff classification and the import licence where applicable), so the declaration could be filed as soon as the cargo was presented.
- Clearance monitored in real time and dedicated road transport from the airport to the plant.
Outcome
The cargo was released and delivered to the factory inside the window agreed with the client, with no customs requirements raised and no damage. The client now keeps a contingency plan with us for critical replacements, with suppliers registered in advance and standardised paperwork.
